ZIP code 27817 serves the rural community of Blounts Creek in Beaufort County, eastern North Carolina. Its defining landmarks are Blounts Creek itself and the broad Pamlico River, where the creek meets the river amid marshes and low-lying coastal terrain. These waterways support boating and fishing and shape the area’s landscape. The community is dispersed, with scattered homes, churches, and boat-access points rather than a large commercial center.
