Proximity Pro
Frequently Asked Questions
How soon will I get it once I order?
Proximity Pro is an immediate download.
What are the system requirements?
Proximity Pro requires Windows 2000, XP, 2003, or Vista, and on any current version of Macintosh
OS X.
What does it do?
You provide two lists: "sources" and "targets". Proximity Pro will show you which of the targets are closest to each of the sources.
You can provide your source and target lists in any common data format: Excel, CSV, text, whatever. Proximity Pro produces a single result file. For more specific information, please see the documentation.
We also publish ZIP Master, which provides these matches on a one-at-a-time basis, and has additional features too.
How does it calculate "geographically closest" locations?
Proximity Pro uses only the locations of the ZIP codes, as published by the US Postal Service. It does not use individual addresses. Two locations in the same ZIP code are considered to be in the same place by Proximity Pro. Thus it's most useful for larger areas, like states or counties.
Distance is calculated on an "as the crow flies" basis, a straight line between ZIP code centers. It does not calculate driving distances.
Can I learn more about it before buying?
Sure. Watch the movie, and if you want more info, you can download the documentation and read it. This tells you everything you need to know.
