FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How current are the maps?
The maps are updated quarterly.
What format are they in?
The maps are provided electronically in PDF format with an
image size of at least 2'x3' up to 6'x6' for
states. Exact
size will depend on the area being mapped. State-level
maps for CA, TX, FL, NY, PA, and MI come in two-page map format
because of size. The maps are intended for digital use
but may be printed for wall maps using wide-format printers.
View and print the maps using the free Adobe
Reader.
How do I zoom in, zoom out, etc.?
Use the tools provided in Adobe Reader to adjust your view of
the map however you like. See the Adobe Reader documentation
for more information.
How do I print just a portion of the map, at the size I want?
Use the Snapshot tool in Adobe Reader. Adobe Reader's print
dialogs have all the options you need for specifying your printing
preferences. You can also use the Snapshot tool to select a portion
of a map to paste into another application.
How do I find something on the map?
Use Adobe Reader's search functions.
The map is missing some ZIP codes.
Not all ZIP codes have defined mappable areas. For example,
many ZIP codes are PO boxes only and do not have a geographic
region. Some ZIP codes are for a single building. All other ZIP
codes (those with definable areas) are shown on the maps.
